Howdy all,
Sorry about the delay on the specifics of this event. I had this all typed out earlier todat and then hit the wrong key , and it was gone!

This event will begin on May 20th in the afternoon, and end around noon on May 22nd.I am posting this on 2-3 other sites that are BBQ orientated.

What I need you to do is sign-up if you are interested in taking someone fishing, or cooking, or helping with clean -up duty, and how many are attending. If you are a captain, then mention how many seats you will have. If you are a BBQ site member, then you need to let us know how many are coming and what days you would like to attend. There may be trips available to fish any time from Friday am till Sunday afternoon.

This event was a great success last year, and I really enjoyed getting the two groups together. We will be having some raffles, a 50/50 drawing, Jerry 16planes is donating an awesome home made drum smoker, that we will raffle off. Also this year we are planning a rib cook off with prizes and cash to the winners. I hope to have both blind judging and peoples choice winners. If you want to cook ribs, but don't have a cooker, there may be some room available on other cookers, or some cookers available too. The ribs will be provided, and included in the cost to enter the event. There will be an admission charge to attend, just like last year. I wish I could fund this event, but I'm still not working.

Any and all money that is left over after paying the bills will be donated to the West Michigan Cancer Center. This year, instead of dealing with the effects of Cancer myself, we will be celebrating my remission from the disease. I truly and sincerely would love to have all of my friends from all 4 sites make an attempt to attend and celebrate life, and friendships, and BBQ and hopefully good fishing.

so before I hit the wrong button again, please sign-up folks, even if you already did on the other thread "should we do it again?".

We have 3 weeks to finish up the planning ,and work this into a really nice event again. Captains and crews, don't be afraid to work out your details between each other in Pm's or emails. I am sure there are some friendships from last year that need renewals.

I will try very hard in the next week to get prices together on the rib contest and the admission prices for all the attendees.

I would really like to attend but with the price of gas going crazy I need to find someone to split the gas with for the weekend. Anyone from this side want to make a run over?

It's worth the trip, I hope you find a person to split the cost with.

OH, here we go! lol I would like to go just to check it all out. I'm not too concerned about fishing. I grew up Salmon fishing on some very nice boats with people that know how to fish. I'm sort of burnt out of it anymore but I still like smoked fish!

Rich If I bring my cooker you can just throw your ribs in there........

I am in a similar boat (pun intended), but i snagged more than my share in the river over the years. I would like to bring home a couple just to grill, yummy.

You won't get mad if i use your cooker and beat you? LMAO!

I don't get mad about bbq, we do the best we can and we will get there. If I'm not having fun I won't do it, life is too short.

If you will have some extra space that would save me from carrying a drum. Do you want me to bring some fruit wood for ya?
