My wife is changing her diet, and so I need to try to adapt BBQ to meet her needs. Has anyone had luck using salt and/or (brown) sugar alternatives in their sauce? I am asking the same question in the rub thread about BBQ rub.

Hi, I haven't tried this but i will give you the recipe, its from a splenda Cookbook
2tsp Oil 1tsp minced garlic 1 cup finely chopped onion 1 6oz can tomato paste 1 cup water 2Tbsp apple cider vinegar 3tbsp worcestershire sauce 1/3 cup Splenda 2 tsp molasses 1 tsp chili powder 1 tsp dry mustard 3-4 drops liquid smoke tabasco or hot sauce to taste after cooking for about 20 min , put into blender to make smooth. keeps in fridge for about 2 weeks 25 calories for 2 Tbsp
