To the uneducated consumer who is hellbent on consuming more "natural" products, the marquis "No Nitrites or No Nitrates" rings a chord. The asterisk regarding celery plays right into their "fear" or goal...if it occurs naturally it can't be bad. So they pay the higher price for bacon.

I lump these people in with the people who only eat margarine because it's suppose to be better for you than real butter.

Anything consumed in high enough quantity is going to be bad for you, except Single Barrel Jack Daniels. Is this false advertising, no, is it misleading, IMHO, yes definitely.

By looking around at us, not many are into the "body is a temple" statement. I don't think it matteres either way. If it's good I'll eat it.........

A day without nitrates is a day you are probably hungry. Even if you din't eat anything cured.

Here's a good one Mike...next time ya run into one of these organic food freaks, ask them how they or their veggies/meats get by without water. Yes... chemically, it's inorganic.
