New Barbeque ordinance in Highland Park, Mi. Good idea but the fines are pretty steep.

I don't understand why we need a law to tell people not to have a BBQ on their covered porch. I can understand people having a BBQ on their deck but take responsibility and have a fire extinguisher nearby and pay attention.
