That I found this site, he's the one that showed me there was BBQ in Michigan. I see some familiar names here and would like to get involved more with BBQ. I have been BBQ'n for 5 or 6 years but not now where the level you guy's are. Started out on a Masterbuilt bullet, Then I bought a Bradley bisquit auto feeder but since I built a couple uds's, I haven't used them.
I've been homebrewing for a long time and like to hang out with good people, good beer, and good Que, joke around and have a good time and if I can, teach or learn something. So blame Bubba for letting me in guy's, it's all his fault!!
I'm going to try and get out to Auburn Hills this weekend and meet a few of you if I can get out of a couple of Grad. parties! If not I will see you around somewhere, Cheers!

How long is the event going on in Auburn hills this weekend? I have never been to one.
I got some bad news this morning that one of my best friends grandfather died.Thier buring him tomorrow. He's a world war II vet and there doing a 21 gun salute for him.
Are you guy's out there Sunday and what times?
Are you allowed to bring beer to these events, probably a dumb question? Or whens the next local event?
I will have some good beers coming up in the next week or two. I got hit hard by the fellas a couple weekends ago. Right now I have a really good American Amber Ale, and a Dopplebock on tap. Coming up will be an IPA, German Pils, Vienna Lager, Hefeweizen and a Blue Moon clone. Cheers!!

The Auburn Hills event ends today (Saturday). Check the front page of the website, it has all of the KCBS contests listed, as well as some non-KCBS events...

Barberque;
Sorry about your friends granfather, it is unfortunate that there are not to many WWI and II vets left to learn life lessons from.
I'm sure we will catch up at another event or we will track you down and drink your beer whether you want to or not!!!

P.S. Mike likes some beer called Lincolnbruner, even the waitress looked at him funny last night when he ordered it.
Come to think of it, everyone looks at Mike funny.

Ya, you got that right! I new his grandfather, but not very well. I have seen him at BBQ's and family functions that I was invited to but, I knew he was a good man because my buddies eye's would light up every time he would talk about him with nothing but repsect.
Even just a couple of weeks ago, my buddie went over to his house and he was on the roof cleaning his gutters at the age of 88 years old, my buddy said granpa, why didn't you call me, I would have been glad to do that for you. He said he didn't want to bother him. It's pride, asking someone to do it for him meant he could no longer do it. And that, is what most of the new generation lacks...pride in themselves, jmho.
We have a bunch of younger couples renting in my sub and all I see is about 3 to 6 months occupation and there gone. The cops being called at least twice a month for disputs or what ever reason. Can't even mow there lawns or even remember what day trash goes out.
Sorry for ranting guy's, but like sfish said, we lost one of the few left that helped shap history and most kids today don't understand the sacrafices made then for us now. I'm trying to teach this to my duaghter.
Anyways, Hope to see you guy's at another event, oh should I bring some beer?

Yeh, I went to the showing only, my buddy owns the homebrew store and needed some help picking up some stuff for the shop around town so I helped him out and did some running around a bit before we had to go to two graduation parties.
Did you get to see the 21 gun salatue?

Wonder what he did with all the food he was cooking.
