I figured with all of the fine training and advice I have obtained from his heinesses Bubba and Mike that I will forego this event on my own ( with Deb). The entry has been mailed, there is a new team officially now in the house.

You could also call Kim Hicks at Beale Street BBQ & Smokehouse in Fenton.

That is right a cooking DEMO, not a class and there is no cost involved. We have not been advertising it hard, for the simple fact it is not our event. It is a day before the rib cook-off and it is really intended for the average backyarder, or less...

Congrats to all who participated and who placed. I had planned to attend to see what a comp is about and meet some folks here but my nieighbor lost a hard wood tree(cherry)and gave me the wood if I'd get it out right away. Yesterday was a miserable day to running a chain saw but got 2 pickem up truck loads out of it. Oh well, maybe Silver Lake.

It was a long hot day but alot of fun, (most of the time.)
Chuck, was nice to meet you and your family, congrat's on the 2nd place.
Mike and Bruce B showed up to lend a whole bunch of professional and moral support and with just one little, small, not to bad of a glitch at turn in time, the day was a
blast.
Thanks again to Deb for her time and effort that went all for not, (no fault of hers!) and Mike and Bruce for the help.
Have to go find a place to hang my ribbon!

A BIG congrats to both Scott and Chuck. It was nice to meet the both of you. I wish I'd got there earlier to had more time to talk.
I have some pics of both of you as well as the other teams around your smokers and also picking up your ribbons. I also remember hearing the winners names, but I too can't remember them. The team name was a combination of their 2 first names.
What's the competition in Mt. Morris and when is it?
