OK, Thanks Mike. But is this comp in a park, a fairgrounds or right on main street in downtown. I have looked at silver lake on-line and am just searching for accomodations, since never being there I figured my wife and dad's fiancee could bum around while I was participating in the comp with the Captain-n-Smoke team.

It's in a park in the middle of Mears. The town is only a mile long so get there and your good. ;)

Half the place closes after the holiday so check early. Rooms go fast. That link has hotel info i believe.

the back yard comp with ribs and wings was my first competition ever. now i try to do as many as i can.

cant do auburn hills, sad since its 12mi from home, but gotta pig to cook, so that is my consolation prize!
