Looks like you can't drive 5 feet without running over a BBQ cook in the KC area.
I think with the interest shown in the Great Lakes area, we'll start seeing more and more contests in our area.

Considering 3 years ago there were only 3 comps in Mi., i'd say were doing pretty good!

I have a question for more of you "experienced" enthusiasts. ;)

Has there ever been a TOY from any of the northern states? Or even close for that matter?

Some of the best teams are actually from the North East. Not a TOY winner (yet) :cool:

Yep, the TOY program for the KCBS rewards those that cook the most comps. In the Kansas City area there are several comps each week within driving distance. So those that are able to do 20+ comps and do them well have a better chance than the teams in the North East or Upper Midwest that only have a 10-12 to pick and choose from... That is not a dig at any teams in the KC area, just pointing out a few facts...
