Hi all,
I'm looking forward to being a part of this forum and the Great Lakes BBQ Asociation. Hopefully I'll be meeting some of you at the thaw out cook, out in Eagle. I won't have the smoker fired up but I'll be around. This being the first competition that I've really ever been to, I'll be the fat old dude wondering looking lost.
Basically since a trip to Joplin Missouri, some five years ago or so, and a taste of some fine beef brisket while there, BBQ has become my passion. I've since become a member of a couple of forums, and thankfully so for I've learned so much, and have acquired some new equipment and skills. I'm certainly no expert, but I'm happy where I'm at when in comes to the world of low and slow. I pretty much started with a chargriller, and since built a UDS which I use quite regularly, and then for some real fun there's always the old DiamondPlate Pit 60 series. I just recently acquired a Maverick 73 dual probe temp sensor and used it for the first time the other day while doing a pork butt and a bottom round roast for some baltimore bit beef. I got to admit that staying seated while enjoying the Red Wings game and just looking down at the remote reciever was much nicer than having to go check on things every so often.....Ahhh it's a beautiful thing!!!!
Well just wanted to say thanks again and I will see ya around...
