Very new to this forum. Not too new to BBQing. Probably about mid-range in where I want to be.
Cooking has been my hobby for many years. One day, about six years ago, I picked up a BBQ magazine from Southern Living, and OH MY, I knew this was going to be my new cooking path. At the time, I had only a Ducane gasser and could knock down some pretty good eats. But, needed to go further. Got a Weber kettle next and started adding smoke to my recipies. Followed that with a Cookshack 08 a few years ago, and continued to improve on my BBQing.
Last fall I attended Fast Eddys Cooking classes in Ponca City, OK, as taught by Eddie Maurin & Dave Bouska (ButcherBBQ). That class was tied up with the KCBS Judging Class and got judging certification in that weekend as well.
I'm currently awaiting delivery on a MAK pellet grill. I am purchasing this unit from a Holland area Patio/Grill dealer who is setting up as a dealer for MAK. This'll be super having a MAK dealer here in W/MI.
Doughguy has been instrumental in steering me towards attending the Saturday festivities in Eagle. So, I'll plan to join everybody there. While there, I'll find my way to the GLBBQ booth & get signed up for membership.
So that's plenty enough about me for now. See ya'll in Eagle!
