Just joined up after looking around for a while. I see what appears to be allot of good people with a varied history of experience and love of BBQ. I've been smoking things for 25 years but really serious about BBQ for the past 10 years and now ready to try my hand at some competitions. I first started BBQing on a weber kettle and WSM until I had to burn real wood. I grabbed a Brinkman Smoke-n-Pit pro and struggled with it for several years but was not willing to give up. I built a few UDS units but was not happy with burning charcoal. A few years back I built a nice double barrel pit that I still use, but again it is not what I really am looking for. Several months ago I grabbed a Green Mountain Grill pellet grill, and though it burns pellets, I am happy that they are real wood. Once my welding skills get a bit better I'll be building a trailer based pit with the materials I've been collecting for a few years, but right now I'd just melt things rather than build them! I'm looking forward to learning allot and contributing where I can.
