Hickory ????

A friend of mine is telling me all the tree's in his yard are hickory
he is located in fenton mi, is this true and are these tree's the same hickory that we smoke with ????????
And is there a way to tell ?

Shagbark is the most common in our area. If that's what he's got, you're sitting on a smokers dream!

yes, that what i think it is
all the bark looks like it is peeling off , i cut down a couple trees a year ago and ill tell you what it smelled pretty good when running the chainsaw

if i take a picture of the trees can some 1 tell me for sure

We sure can. I live in Flushing and I have hickory trees, and Bubba and I know for sure that there is a load of Hickory in the Davison area... If you need any help cutting any of those I have a chainsaw and a truck!!
