Those contests are spread out quite far and wide to make it very attractive as far as the big purse goes. So basically if you win GC at kingsford and you do it with their charcoal they give you 1000.00 or do othey spread that around a little?

they should pay extra to people for simply trying to compete with that additive laden, ash packed, air choking, foul tastin...oh wait a min. did they say mo money? me and Myron are in:D

Hello folks.... noticed this thread so I thought I would say a little something. Please understand I am being very careful here, and you can make of this what you want at this time. I received a call before the KCBS convention asking if we would be one of the contests across the county to host the Great American BBQ Tour. We are pleased and honored to be part of that. We really are proud to have been selected. That was the extent of the conversation. No talk or questions about any other details. As far as the Kingsford race for the points.... no one has talked to me about it. If not for a friend from wisconsin... I might not even know about this.

My understanding, is that if a team signs up on the Kingsford chase for the points, and they win as our GC... Kingsford will pay them $1000 extra... I don't think we handle the distribution.. but then no one has talked to me about it. I do know that the team with the most points at the end of 17 events will win an additional $25,000.
