Total ballots returned = 2459
Total number of eligible voters = 11255
Percent of ballot return = 21.85%
The top four have been elected to the KCBS Board of Directors

Candy Weaver receives 1071 votes, 43.55% of the total.
Linda Mullane receives 1037 votes, 42.17% of the total.
Mike Lake receives 1018 votes, 41.40% of the total.
Paul Kirk receives 1006 votes, 40.91% of the total.

Jeff Stith receives 956 votes, 38.88% of the total.
Randy Bigler receives 857 votes, 34.85% of the total.
Barbara Milroy receives 628 votes, 25.54% of the total.
Jim Stancil receives 531 votes, 21.59% of the total.
John Kirby receives 390 votes, 15.86% of the total.

21.85% is really embarrassing. I don't understand how 78.15% of the members could care less to vote. Do you think they are just CBJ's that just do it for the food and don't care about the organizational path?

I think you may be right Rich, also if you notice who won they are for the most part known "names" on the BBQ circuit. To the casual BBQ fan they have heard of Paul Kirk and a lot of people use Candy Weaver's product. Linda and Mike are incumbents and we all know first hand in Michigan how hard it is to beat an incumbent (Granmole jab there). Not that I dont think Mike will not do a good job, I do think he will do a good job and I will leave it at that...

I want to thank all of those who took the time to learn about the candidates and vote in the KCBS Board election. Great Lakes BBQ Association is a great asset to competition bbq.

I see competition bbq as a fast growing sport/hobby. My goal as a member of the Board is not to leave anyone behind as prize money grows as well as bbq celebrities.
