and a snipit of what is happening in your area? and are you going to Q today and what?
it is 30.4f and going to be a high of 48.f here in Las cruces,nm.
while talkin with a trailer Qer yesterday (ole boy that does kansas city style Q out of a trailer) and having a brisket Burrito loaded with jalepnos. some guy armed with a hand gun robbed the bank down the street. talk about fast action (still at large at this time) cops with M-4s, FBI and K-9 units every where.
they did not say how much loot got taken and the news did not say much either.
they have been bustin the banks in this area pretty good.
Plus the action just across the border in Jueraz mexico is exciting, they chop the heads off at least a dozen folks a week and gun down as many. you can stand on the boarder crossing and hear the small arms fire. Not much on the news about it though.
no Q today. going to work on the gun vault and shop. must get organized in there.

 wait till it warms up.lol they will be behind every emergency vechicle out there with it sirens and lights on.
I was reading in the shooting industry rag about firearms sales and how many nics checks are done every month by the FBI so far in 2009 every month is record setting on how many checks are done by the FBI and this is just the check for a person buying a firearm and on the 4473 there can be multiples of firearms being purchased by one individual.
from jan-dec 2008 12,709,023 nics checks were done
from jan-oct 2009 nov and Dec. are not in yet.11,403,417 have been done. and allmost every month up to oct over a million have been done for 2009.
that is a lot of firearms sales. and it seems from what the retailers say. defense is what most are concered with. lot of handgun sales with high performance ammunition.
and concealed carry lic are up in almost every state that has it.
and the pitman-Robertson act in the second quarter brought in $122 million dollars in excise tax from hunting and fishing sales. WOW!
and PETA says the sportsman is not doing anything for the wildlife. I would like them jerks to match funds every year with them.

26 degrees on my side of Michigan.
I let my CPL expire this year. I took the refresher course but have changed my mind on renewing my license. One of the only reasons I got it was for easy transportation to the range, camping, and hunting but don't feel I need it anymore.
I might to pack one if I go to Eagle this year because of the high crime rate. :D

since i just know your all on the edge of your seats .... wondering how this new brisket turned out. well.. it probably was the best tasting i have ever done! moist and tender and real good flavour. pictures may not be the best, but damn it was good! no KCBS judges on site to give it a score, but to me its a winner. come this spring it will make its debut.
(now... how do i add a picture to this thing.......????

we never needed one here (CPL) the law was very good for carrying, then a bunch of folks decided we needed one. all that did was make the state wealthy, created some new jobs, and made it a felony to have on you a firearm with out the CPL.
It started out as a big cluster drill. you only could carry what you qualified with. and so stated on the lic. and was good for a year. then do it all over again.
me and my buds took a truck load of handguns to the course. took us all day to qualifiy with every pistol and revolver caliber we could find. there was not enough room on the lic to put them all. they soon changed their ways.lol. now it is the largest caliber you qualify with and you can carry any thing under that caliber.
and it went to every five years. to renew.
Oh 31o here with a high to be 58o still working on the shop and getting the truck ready to head to the shot show next sat.
you all have a great day.
soon to come will be wheel barrel lic. any thing to build up the state coffers here.lol.
