I use third cup each:
Cider vinegar
Water
Bourbon
Warm water/vinegar, and add any flavorings, etc. I will typically add a teaspoon of Kosher salt, pinch of onion powder and a few twists of the pepper mill. let cool a bit and add bourbon.
You do not want to heat with the bourbon in it. You will then lose the alchohol, which is a solvent for the pepper oils and other spice oils you may add.

That's why I always add alcohol to the cook:p Keeps me solvent.

this is great. all may favorites. I just wish it would spray out of a mister with pepper and other spices. But, the mop will do.

Would Tennessee Sipping Whiskey work instead of Bourbon ??

Yup... Whiskey in general is high in carbs and complex sugars- plus the alcohol's solvent effects for the pepper/spice oils is still there.

If you have a fine enough strainer, and simmer well, add the bourbon and let sit for a day- go ahead and strain. Most of the flavors will be in the liquid by then :{)

well, since richtee has a great mop here is one I have seems it is available on google also.
12 ounces beer
l/2 cup cider vinegar
1/2 cup water / apple juice is good. heck bourbon will work just call the mop a boiler maker mop..Or a boiler maker swifter :)
1/4 cup oil, preferably canola or corn I like peacan myself and of course peanut is good also.
1/2 medium onion, chopped
2 garlic doves, minced
1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
1 tablespoon of yer favorite Rub or other dry rub or seasoning that complements the flavor of your dish
Combine the ingredients in a saucepan. Heat the mop and use it warm. Makes about 3 cups.
