I see you all have events scheduled for Quing whether to make money or for charity.

I have been going to large shooting matches since 1985 with shooters in the numbers of 150 to 400 some times more at these events. then there is family that comes with the shooter and friends. and then the spectators that show up.
the last big match I shot in was in AZ there is normally no food to be had and if there is it is whoafully lacking. we had a guy pull up in a little truck with a hot dog wagon on the back. a dog chips and a soda for $3.75 Holly crap, the line formed fast and he sold out in no time, and we begged him to come back sunday.
the last cowboy action match we had here in my area. they had the 4-H club kids come out to pick up the brass. and normally at matches now we have the girl scouts or boy scouts come out and pick up the brass (spent casings) what ever kids clubs we can find.
they make pretty good money and have fun. sort the brass by caliber and put in buckets and then in gallon z-lock bags and sell it back to the shooters and have a tip buckets. the shooters seem to be pretty generous with the kids. and starving. and normally after the 1st day every one goes that evening to denny's are golden corral. some times a hosted dinner is done. (looking for vomit smiley) then there is always the awards banquet the last day and at the end of the match.

well we had the 4-H kids at the two day event. set up a several huge ole grills and a bunch of woks loaded the grill w/ pecan wood made burgers and dawg for sale. along with bean, tater salad and slaw. well for the folks ramroding the kids who spent the night at the range. made for them selves that 1st evening rib eyes slathered in peacan oil grilled on peacan wood. roasted a bunch of pablano peppers skinned them the sauted onion and mushrooms mixed the peppers in put a scoop on the ribeye when they were done and a slice of provelone over the sauted items and melted it.
wel these folks that were shooting said what about us? they asked that they do the same for them the next day. so it was done. not money was made for all the work. But, It was good. and the SASS (cowboy action shooters) whant them every year. they contacted 4-H this year and said every one wanted the steak dinner each night. and did not care how much it cost and were willing to pay $30.00 a plate or more.
The deal is done. the kids make good money for their clubs.
Now there is the machine gun matches. you get in free to the match if you bring 100,000 rounds or more. these folks have money. most machine guns today start at $10,000 are better. and at our matches we have several hunderd shooters and 3x the spectators and these folks bring more then one rattle gun. and most shooters have as much money tied up in their pistol and gear then the cost of one good custom smoker.
well, I did not know if this would be a good thing to post here or not.
But you get the idea. and thought it might be helpfull info for folks trying to make a living or suplament their income. breakfast, lunch and supper can be done. plus the evening banquets and award ceromonies. great food is always welcome.
