I realized something yesterday; just how much a big smile on a person's face and a sincere THANK YOU, just how much, those two things can make you feel really good inside.
On Saturday October 17th, six members of the GLBBQA fed approximately 45 senior citizens, some wheelchair bound, a great BBQ lunch of pulled pork, BBQ chicken, potato salad, hog-apple baked beans, coleslaw and dessert, and in many cases fed them twice.
I want to take this opportunity to personally thank Steve Coddington (BBQ Bubba); Mike Terry (Pres. Spydermike), Bruce MCEnroe (B Mac), Tom Mogg (tmogg), and Chris Lewandowski (dodgeramsst2003), for all their time and effort that they volunteered to make this a successful event.
I sincerely hope that the GLBBQA will continue to seek out events of this nature and last weeks BBQ for the Troops so that we may use our talents not only to win trophies but to do for others. I would also encourage other members to get involved with these events when you can, it is truly rewarding. Once again THANK YOU!!
