Having followed this forum for some time, I already know many of you personally, from other forums, or reputation.

I grew up around BBQ, and family reunions on my Mom's side were catered by two of the well known places in Lockhart, Texas. It's always been a part of my life. Competition BBQ became a much bigger part of that life several years ago when I started cooking in Texas with a good friend, and took a vacation when he had triplets and I started a business...then got married. In the last several years I've pit bitched or cooked from New England to Arizona, with an appearance or two in Texas. It's my guilty pleasure, and a means to keep my sanity!:D

In all honesty, my primary reason for being here is to campaign for the KCBS BoD. Having been a moderator on another forum, I was reluctant to become a member here because I didn't want any issues that I may have had with...some folks to possibly bleed over and become a distraction here. So you all have my apologies, should that happen. That being said, I'll try to participate beyond campaigning when I have the time and something that I think is of value to offer.

Thanks for having me!

Thanks for joining Jorge!
Looking forward to hearing your ideas on improving our KCBS and I think I can speak for most of our voting membership that the GLBBQA has your back.

Aloha Jorge and a big HOWDY from one Texan to another!

Please tell me that "Howdy" has no connection to that school in College Station. I married a graduate of that institution, and November is always hell around here when our schools meet;)

Won't have to worry about that anymore. I am assuming the TX/a&m game is going to history..

Welcome Jorge

Thank you all for the welcome.

Yes, the A&M game goes away after this year. Texas has a full non-conference schedule until 2018 at this point.
