Greetings from CHarlevoix,
I am new to the Forum, but have been doing BBQ for some time now. I cook on a custom built cooker/trailer my best friend and fellow avid BBQer built. It is Wood fired, and big enough to old 30 sholders. I also just picked up a 1996 ford short bus, that I will be converting into a kitchen on wheels. I look forward to joining the competition circut, and making new friends through BBQ. I would love to help in getting a competition started in Charlevoix, or in Northern Michigan.

Welcome, glad you found us.
The folks at the Charlevoix Chamber of Commerce tried to do a rib burn contest last
year but cancelled due to lack of interest. Big problem was it was going to be scheduled on the 4th of July weekend.

Its usually in late April, there was some talk and will be more talk this year (:)) of having it in early May when the weather is a little more predictable and it is held at the Eagle Fairgrounds in Eagle, Michigan.

Enlighten me on this Eagle practice cook. Has there ever been an interest in this being a KCBS event? Practice sounds like practice, I hate practice. just wondering. Most you pitmasters don't need no stinking practice;)

There has, like MIke said we can talk in KC about it, would be a great opportunity for the events committee to work with the board of directors to form a committee of association members at large to organize a sanctioned contest.
