Do we still get a discount at Gordon Foods with a GLBBQA membership? I used the original card that was issued to me when I first joined (at the beginning of GLBBQA) today and didnt receive a discount. I was under the impression we got a 5% discount at said establishment.

great info if i don't have my card i always mention GLBBQA and it turns into this 10 minute search. Now i know to tell them that BBQ is spelt out. if i kept every discount card on me for retail purchases i would have to carry a purse.:eek:

I do get a discount every time I buy a couple bags of R.O lump coal from the store.

about 3 weeks ago I used it and it worked great.

Yes, I use the discount. The last time I used my GLBBQA card they had a hard time running it through so they gave me one of their nice plastic Gordon cards. Try it you might like it.

I tried getting one of the those nice little GFS key FOB's for all our members, however, they would not give me that many. When I asked they said you can show your card at the register or just tell the cashier you are with the "Great Lakes Barbecue Association" and the discount "should" show up.

The discount works at my store.

Yes we do, they did take my GLBBQA issued card from me the last time, sent me to the membership aisle, did some click, click, click stuff on the computer and printed me out 2 of the key fobs and 1 large wallet sized card.

The clerk searched for over 10 minutes yesterday, said we don't exist.

Dropped $170 yesterday, was hoping for some type of a break. :(

We're in there. I used it this morning.

When they search make sure they put Great in the first field and Lakes in the second field and then hit the arrow down 3 times. It's there.

See if you can get them to give you a regular Gordons card. Present your GLBBQA member card and tell them you lost your Gordons discount card from GLBBQA and ask if they could give you a new one to speed up your checkout. It looks like a credit card and usually comes with 2 key fob small cards. They got tired off trying to scan my copied and laminated GLBBQA member card and just gave me one of theirs. Try it, you might like it.

Now thats a very good idea. That laminated card I got from GLBBQA never worked.

That is what we did and they gave us the 5% discount card no problems at all.

GFS has never had just 5 cards issued, that I think is Restaurant Depot, all any member has to do is go to the membership counter, show your GLBBQA issued card, they will re-enter you in , give you a wallet card and 2 little ones to put on your key chain.
If for some reason a store wont, it must be the individual store problem, not a problem between the GLBBQA and GFS.

Huh, when I was working, every person working for the municipality had a GFS discount card, that was over 75!
Should there continue to be a problem, I will contact GFS and see what if anything needs to be done.

I went to my GFS store and tried to get key FOB's for all the members, I thought it would be easier to carry those as opposed to the laminated cards. My store Mgr. called corporate and she was told that she couldn't give me that many FOB's at one time.

I don't know what the solution is. I've never had a problem getting the discount at my store as long as the clerk in-puts our association name properly...it is on their computer.

I buy there bbq sauce in case lots if I'm doing a bunch of grad parties. The Mayor loves the Koegels pickled bologna!!!!!!!!!!
