Good Morning All,

In Accordance with our By-Laws the Glbbqa Board of Directors has formed a nomination committee for the 3 openings that we will have on our Board of Directors in 2010. All 3 terms will be 3 year terms. The nomination committee will accept nominations until January 1st. At that time we will announce all of the candidates for the 3 open positions. We will vote on the candidates at our Annual Meeting which will be held in March. Any member that is in good standing is eligible to be a candidate. You can even self nominate yourself.

The Nomination Committee is comprised of 2 members of the Board of Directors and 2 Members. This years committee will be:

Michael Terry
Steve Coddington
Richard Boudrow
Richard Parker

You can submit your nominations starting today through January 1st via the following e-mail address: nominations@glbbqa.com This e-mail address will forward to all members of the nomination committee.

As Bubba says above. The BOD is re-configured every year so no positions are really up. Self Nominations are accepted.

Are there any travel requirements to be a member of the board and is it possible for board members to participate by phone?

With all of the discussion about the KCBS elections and that how they should be transparent and open for all members either to attend or listen in maybe this is something that GLBBQA should look in to.

There are no travel requirements, we have had BOD meetings by phone, however we do like to meet at least once a quarter in person. Allowing members to listen in would be a problem when we do meet in person as we are usually at a restaurant and the noise level is sometimes unacceptable... I cant comment on the KCBS as I dont know where they meet, I think they may have an actual office, since we dont we have to be creative :D

I have no problem with any member attending any meeting, we have had several members attend our meetings.

Just a friendly reminder that the period for nominating a person for the 3 open positions on the BOD is ending tonight at midnight. If you would like to nominate someone (or even yourself) please send your nomination to nominations@glbbqa.com. This will be sent to the entire Nominating committee.

We should have the candidates out to the membership by next week.
