Got an email from Dave Waun,
he would like all participants to phone or email him as soon as possible.
His phone number is: 440-225-0900
His email is smokinbrothersbbq@yahoo.com

In the original post I have confirmations from Tom Earl, Shane, Jerry and Cory.
In the PM requests I sent out a couple weeks ago I only heard from Rockpyle.

For our records, please let me know also who is going to help.
Thanks again.

I just e-mailed Dave and told him I would feel honored to help out in such a noble cause. I offered the Lang 84 and the Weber 22" but I'm not sure I'll have room for the Weber. I might have to mount it to the Lang somehow but it can cook 6 or 8 butts all night unattended. I offered to arrive Saturday and nap in my truck.

Visioneer;
The Lang most likely will be all you need if everyone else comes thru that said they would. I've cooked 30 eight pound butts on an 84 all at once. Just keep in touch with Dave. Thanks a bunch.

Volunteers,

First of all, Thank you for taking time out of your life to Honor, Serve and Thank the men and women that serve our Country. I know they will appreciate you being there.

I have turned your names over to Security at the base, and I'm sure we will have no issues. If you are coming by motorcycle, there are guidelines you must follow. Please read the attachment.

Everyone, please bring a hat to wear. We need to ensure we don't serve hair with our BBQ. (I will try to bring some extra hats, in case someone forgets....)

Here is the address to the base, you can google map it or use your GPS:
Selfridge ANGB (Air National Guard Base)
44200 N Jefferson Ave,
Harrison Township, Mi 48045
Basically it is off M-59 (Hall Rd) just east of I-94. If you head east on M-59 and go into the lake, you went just a little too far.

Sunday volunteers, please arrive around 8 am if possible. We have to prep the beans, (put into the smokers by 9 am) cut the veges for the dirty rice (start cooking by 9:30), set-up serving lines (5) distribute plates, forks etc... Start "pulling" the pork and slicing the brisket (1,400 pounds) by 10 am. We serve lunch at 11:30 am.

BBQ cookers, I will be picking up the 1,400 pounds of meat around 3 pm on Saturday, and I should be on base no later than 5 pm. We will meet, look over our cookin' area, and decide how to set up efficiently. Hopefully we will be able to start trimming and rubbing the meat around 7 pm, and get it all in the cookers by about 9 pm. That should give us plenty of time to ensure all the meat will be cooked on time. Some of our smokers will be used on Sunday morning to cook the 18 pans of beans.

I hope I answered all questions, PLEASE feel free to call me with any questions or concerns.

Thank you in advance, I am so proud to be working with each of you!

It was AWESOME!
We're still recuperating. That was my first one and it was really impressive the way Dave had pre-arranged everything. The troops were overly appreciative of our efforts as well as the food. Cory brought two smokers down from Alpena including his monster that ended up with 700 lbs of pork shoulders. We split the 700 lbs of brisket between the other four smokers.
I went 36 hours without any sleep. I closed my eyes for an hour twice but couldn't fall asleep.
I'll do it again!

GREAT JOB!!, way to go, thank you are not good enough words. Sounds like Cory is the go to guy when you need a super sized job done. I know I did about 250 lbs on a Lang 84 and it was pretty much stufffed full.
Thanks again to all of you who helped pull this one off.
