But The Beast is close!
Here's a 2 year project about to come to fruition: A BIG ASS smoker.
This is the sis-in-law modeling one of 10 racks that go inside it

Here's the fire box... for you Canuckians..it's a Labatt keg :{)

Here's a shot of the seasoning run... 222°F and thin blue smoke
http://i471.photobucket.com/albums/rr72/esalink/0906091524.jpg
An open shot after seasoning... THE BEAST! 40 slabs of ribs...20 briskets...no sweat! Let's have a party!

I'm still managing to light SOMETHING and keep within the law!
40 slabs of ribs anyone??

That thing is monstrous!
I can't even imagine cooking that much meat at once.

Is the firebox big enough for that thing when it is fully loaded ??

I'm thinking with a full load of meat your gonna need about 3 more barrels of beer to get that thing up to temp. Is that just a temp firebox?

Excellent question. Yes, with the 50K BTU burner you don't see in the bottom of the cab ;{)
Fully loaded with wood only would be scary. I don't think that would work. Maybe 10-15 slabs.
Tuning work yet too. We had a 70° differential in the cab that has to be dealt with. It WILL be dealt with.

Did ya read about the gas burner in the cooking chamber? I'm sure I can get plenty of smoke flavor to do the meat right...perhaps not heat, but I figgered that from the get-go, Bull.
And I guess... if I wanna bring it to a comp...all I need is a behemoth firebox. Could go with a 55 Gal. drum I suppose.

Full?? Dunno...heh. I managed to screw up with the broken ankle thing and it's kinda limited my construction abilities
Down to gas plumbing and controls. The plumbing stuff ain't easily found, Evidently they don't want folks building their own propane units? :p
