Attached is the flyer for the Flushing Rib Cook-Off. Right now we have $500.00 in prize money, we are looking for more, I would like to get $750-1000.00 in prize money...

This was a fun event last year and I hope for more teams this year.

This was a nice event last year.
On a side note they had a pie auction were I got two of the best pies ever. One was in a glass pie plate (bonus) for like 11.50.
A quick glance at the rules and I think I see were Bubba got me, it was'nt the taste, presentation, or tenderness, but the other two "mystery" criteria that he must have totally nailed.
Why do good things happen to bad people?:D

After the fiasco of my first attempt at a 3-2-1 burn (literally) 2 days ago, I won't be doing any comps this year. I've got a lot of practicing ahead of me first. Not only that, I'm in the process of talking my bro in law into doing the welding on a 275 gallon oil tank SFB smoker for me and that might take place this Winter.
But I did mark this on my calendar to attend. Flushing is only 11 miles from me.

Looking forward to seeing some of you again that I've met at other smokes.

It is right in the middle of downtown, just take the Pierson Rd exit (#122) off of I-75 North and turn left. It will run you right into downtown after about 3 miles.
Yes that should work also the metal oil change trays will work good as well.

Just got back from the chamber office. They have 6 teams so far, with another one that I know of coming in later today... Those are pretty good odds for some good money. Deadline to register is 9:45am Saturday. The weather may be breaking a bit, they are only calling for spotty showers now...

Also, I will be doing the meat inspections, so no pre-seasoned meats!! I think we let someone slip by last year...
