I wonder if anyone else would like to see if we can use the judges tent for a fri nite pot luck? Thinking about 7ish with a "southern farm recipe" theme. I would be willing to do some southern fried chicken. Just a Quick check to see if there is any interest before I ask the organizer for the use of his tent.

I think I just did:confused:

I say each team brings a dish to pass including a serving utensil, there own dinnerware and beverage and cleans up after themselves. How's that for "easy peasy"

I suppose I could send a mass e-mail to all members in the unlikely event that they miss this post. Wouldn't want to leave nobody out:eek:

Wish I knew a tech guy with all them e-mail addresses;)

I was kidding about the rib salad. That was just a little carry-over from last weekends incident but I can do a big bowl of banana pudding.

I'll make my broccoli salad.

PLUS... it is Nicole's birthday (well, Thursday is actually her birthday, but I'm sure she'll STILL be celebrating by Friday) so, we may do up something special for that too. Something gluten-free, I'm sure.

I wonder what color Larry's greens will be, since everything he touches turns to gold lately? lol

If your looking for an idea, I vote for mac n cheese. I have made the Neeley's from the food channel and it is awesome!! I've always been curious about corn pudding too and with all the local sweetcorn maybe some good ole corn on the cob. Got a turkey frier? easy peasy

i can do grilled corn on the cob if anyone wants me too. i will have my catering grill this time and it will fit plenty. i have 2 turkey fryers, but i like grilled sweet corn way better than just typical boiled. so, looks like we need more meat items? i was thinking also about doing a couple or 4 pork tenderloins mari-jin-ated and grilled up.??

this turned out great! We have some tallented cooks for sure. This event was well attended and all the dishes were the bomb. Already working on a theme for next year. Special thanks go to Bruce M for his help in clean up and I hope he doesn't forget to post the "grits 'n' greens" recipe. I will post the chicken recipe later today for those who are interested. Thanks to everyone who attended for making this such a success.
