Hey Lee, not being much of a fisherman myself I may not be the best to answer that, but I do know the last 2 years winners have come right out of the river in downtown Flushing. 2009 it 11lbs and 90z, 2010 it was a 9lber that won it.

If you go to www.flushingwalleye.com and click on the video on the home page it has a recap of the 2009 festival and has the winner on there.

DON"T get the CHERRY flavor golytly, it is really nasty. My next choice would be the lemon and you can take a shot of Vernors after each glass to help out. Just had one in October.

Good luck

Dont think they have Vernors in Texas. Five very good friends I've know since kindergarden are getting it done on the same day (Mar 11th) in Ft Worth, Tx. The doctor is another good friend of ours who was also in our kindergarden class, Cub Scout den, and Boy Scout troop, etc.

Who woulda thunk 45 years ago...........................

So true Jerry!

In fact, Tom (Dr Dewar) IS giving us a "group rape .... er ..... rate". As he says, "Once I see one A**hole, I'll see 5 more".

While that does not sound appealing at all, I would like everyone to know that we (The GLBBQA) does need some assistance with running this Chili Cook off as well. So if someone does not want to cook chili but would like to help the GLBBQA in one of our larger fund raising events the help would be appreciated. We even need judges for this as well...

Don't forget the Chili cook off is next Sunday. It is a fundraiser for our association. It is not to late call MikeTerry. I would like to see a good turn out from the members. $750.00 prize pool.

The latest update is there are approximately 12 teams entered. This is a pretty unique Chili Cookoff where there is a Peoples Choice Prize and a Judges Choice. The biggest thing is, there is no entry fee!!

If you don't want to cook chili come on out and taste chili and vote for your favorite. We could also use a little help with the setup and running of the contest. This is a great event for the GLBBQA and the Walleye Committee has been very good to us for the past 4 years. I would like to see the GLBBQA support them as well.

Roll Call,
Ok, me and Richard have teams entered, Mike is part of the organizing group and Bruce is judging. Any other GLBBQA members participating in the event in any way? The event makes a very generous donation to our organization every year.

Did you get beat by a white chicken chili?

sfisch

Nope, but I did figure out that I am going to use my award winning rib rub and mix it with my award winning chili powder and rub the chit all over the chicken and see what happens!!
