BrisketRob,
Good to have you on the forum...I lived in Dallas for about 4 years and traveled once a month to El Paso for a few days at a time visiting the 3 Ford dealers in town (Ford Rep). They were just getting a few Rudy's BBQ about the time I got transferred to Michigan...used to go to Chico's Tacos...Also loved that Green Chiles were available on just about any menu item at a restaurant!! Any good BBQ in El Paso?? I can't remember the place I went to to get Beef Ribs...I heard of a Brisket guy on the road that runs behind Shamaley Ford in a more industrial area, but never stopped in there for lunch...Welcome aboard!!

Wow, small world. Did you ever deal with Gilbert Padilla in the Casa Ford Parts Dept? He's my uncle. Great guy. Pretty much all the Mexican food is good stuff. Some better than others, specially the little hole in the wall places. The place you are talking bout behind Shamaley WAS Chris's the Brisket. Sadly, he shut down about 3-4 years ago. I don't know what happened to him. BUT, that was the best Q place in town. He a ran big ole, brick pit and burned nothing but pecan in it. The combo plates were monstrous!!! Best beef ribs too. After that, there is a place called Smokey's Pit Stop and Saloon. A few locales. Great all you can eat lunch Q buffet. One is about a block away from Shamaley too. Then Moz's in the Northeast. After that it's the chains like Rudy's and Dave's.
I gotta ask............did Chico's give ya the runs? LOL. That place is an icon here in EP. Did you have the hot dog? That's my go to and a double order with double cheese. YUM!
Thanks for the welcome.
Ron, you still got those leather chaps I sent ya?

BrisketRob,
Yes, I remember Gilbert-very smart Ford parts mgr!! Great collection of Die Cast cars!! Tell him I said "hi" when you see him next...
I have had the the hot dogs at Chico's too...Can't remember about the runs though...LOL
I really miss the Huevos Rancheros from a small diner down the road from Casa-I think I went there with Gilbert a few times. We don't have Huevos Rancheros like that in Michigan!!

I will pass on the "Hello" for you. I think the place you are talking about is called La Malinche or something like that. I know the place you are referring to. It's across the street from a restaurant/bar called Carlos and Mickey's. The food at that cafe is AWESOME!!
