Is that our Smokin' Scotsmen BBQ team and the reps spelled the name incorrectly?

I know at least Ron_L was there. :D

Congratulations GLBBQA teams!

Yep, That's our Smokin' Scotsmen! The organizer was very short on teams so she put on a full court press to get Walt and T to come over for the competition.

I'm very surprised that they couldn't attract 25 teams. This was a nice competition! Marjorie, the organizer, does a great job and the whole neighborhood makes us welcome. Normally some of the teams are set up in a church parking lot but this year the church had a wedding scheduled for Saturday so the parking lot was off limits so we were set up on the street on the other side of the church. Rick, the church caretaker too great care of the teams in the lot last year and he was concerned that we couldn't set up there so he actually ran special power outlets and even hot and cold water spigots out the back of the church for us to use! Also, one of the condo owners across the street ran a hose out to his front yard and left the water on so the teams close to him had easy access to water. All evening on Friday the neighbors were walking by and stopping to talk to us and tell us how much they appreciate us coming for the competition and to support the growth of their neighborhood. For those of you in Southern Michigan you really should think about this one next year!

Right on. I had opportunity to judge the KCBS event in Milwaukee. A small but very nice event. Everyone was very hospitable.
Had a chance to do a short visit with Captain Ron of Brew & Que. (he took 5th overall)
and the SmokinScotsmen were smokin again with second overall.
Tip of the hat to all the competing teams.

Sorry it was short. We were trying to get everything packed up before the awards started. We made it :)

Did your wife ever find you?

No problem Captain,

KCBS discourages BSing with the teams 'til after judging.
I'm cool with that.
After the judging, may teams are busy packing up. Understandable.

See ya in Silver Lake & Good Luck to ya & smooth smokin!
I'll stay again to see you walk :D (or walk the plank)

Thanks everyone! Ron summed it up exactly! If you have a chance and can make this one next year they do a wonderful job of making this a great contest. Hope to see some of you there next year....you won't be dissapointed!
